FeSiMg alloy is used in ductile iron production. This alloy alters the growth of graphite from flakes to nodules which imparts tensile strength and elongation in ductile iron. Bansal Brothers produces different chemistry of FeSiMg alloy, with a tightest variation in calcium, aluminium and rare earths metal, which suits every ladle design, pouring temperature and casting requirement. The available range of product is designed to meet the needs of every foundry production as open ladle process, tundish process, and flow through process, in-mould process etc. and give maximum recovery of magnesium, nodule counts and consistent performance.
Bansal Brothers offers FeSiMg qualities and variety of standard chemistry as table below:-

We can manufacture customized grade as per the client need.
La based FeSiMg alloy is specially designed for In-mould process as well as ladle and flow through process. It is an economical and consistent means of treating ductile iron, gives good nodule count and low shrinkage as compared to conventional FeSiMg alloy used in this process.
Whereas La based contains pure Lanthanum as the sole rare earth in FeSiMg has a great benefit when it is used in In-mould process, also in ladle and flow through process.
We manufacture La based alloy by special technique of casting thin layers in chill mould, which gives a minimum of chemical segregation during solidification. Thus, the resultant alloy is homogeneous with low fines content and uniformly distributed active elements.
We manufacture following grades as per the table below:
GRADES | Magnesium | Silicon | Lanthanum | Calcium | Aluminium |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
BBLamag 500 | 5.0-6.0 | 42-46 | 0.25-0.40 | 0.4-0.6 | 0.8-1.2 |
BBLamag 501 | 5.0-6.0 | 42-46 | 0.3-0.55 | 0.8-1.2 | 0.4-1.0 |
Advantages
Inoculants are added in liquid cast iron in order to provide the best and consistent characteristics in the final casting. They are used to control matrix structure and avoid casting defects. Inoculants can be found under several grain size distributions to satisfy the location of the inoculant addition within the foundry process. Those locations of inoculant addition are known as in furnace, in ladle, in stream or in mould.
Inoculants are ferrosilicon based alloys. All elements which are barium, calcium, aluminum, and rare earth can be added in the exact amount into the base liquid iron in order to provoke and certify the final casting matrix structure.

Ferro Silicon Magnesium cored wire have found wide application in treating of molten ferrous metal for inoculation, desulphurization and spheroidization. The cored wire is manufactured by filling pure magnesium metal granules or FeSiMg powder in high grade quality cold rolled strip so as to introduce magnesium into steel bath at greatest possible depth for improved recovery. Cored wire is injected with aid of wire injection system in iron melt. The specifications of cored wire are as follows:
